Most of the people who take advantage of our Montego Bay car rental services are visiting Jamaica to enjoy our beautiful beaches. And while you definitely need to lay out on the white sand, drink a great rum, and take a dip in the turquoise ocean, there are also some amazing places to explore in the interior. Our island has some stunning views that can only be accessed by hiking, and you’d be surprised by how diverse the terrain is in Jamaica. You can go from beach to mountain in a single day.

If you’re a more active traveler and love to hike, this blog post is for you! We’ll be sharing a few of our favorite places to go for a hike and escape the crowds. Continue reading to learn more and contact Timeless MoBay Car Rental when you’re planning your next vacation!

Blue Mountain Peak Trail

Blue Mountain is the highest point in Jamaica, located at 7,402 feet. This 14-mile trail takes you through stunning scenery all the way up to the top, but you should be sure to pack lots of snacks and water, because it’s a very long and challenging trail!

One Love Trail

This trail gets its name from the iconic Bob Marley song and it’s a gorgeous, relatively easy trail. The trail ends at Dunn’s River Falls and the entire out and back is only around four miles in total. It’s great for an easy day hike or for runners looking to get in a few miles.

Mayfield Falls

This is a great hike for people who want to combine swimming with climbing. It’s not a very touristy location, and it takes you past two waterfalls, plenty of natural pools, and a vast array of tropical plants and wildlife. The climb to the top can be done in around 45 minutes, but our car rental company team encourages you to take your time! Splash around in the pools and let your worries wash away.

Mount Zion

This 4.8-mile trail gets you out of the Montego Bay crowds and up into the Mount Zion Village, a tiny community just outside the city. Hike on over and stop into the local rum store before heading back to your Montego Bay hotel! Here at Timeless MoBay Car Rental, we’re always encouraging our customers to take a day trip out from their resort or hotel to really get a taste of what Jamaica has to offer.

Catherine’s Peak

Catherine’s Peak has easily one of the best, and easily accessible views of any of the trails on this list. The concrete path to the lookout point is under a mile long and you get to look out on a tropical jungle from the top of a 4,429 peak. If you’ve rented a car and are staying in Kingston, you can easily drive the 45 minutes out of the city to take advantage of the views from Catherine’s Peak.
